Three team members from Shanco Ltd are preparing to swap construction sites for the streets of London as they take on the 2025 London Marathon — all in aid of the NSPCC. Managing Director & Co-Founder Declan Armour, Commercial Director Stephen Richardson, and Senior Site Manager Kieran Richardson will lace up their running shoes to tackle the 26.2-mile challenge on April 27, 2025.
Running for a Cause That Matters
This marathon challenge is not just about personal achievement — it’s about making a difference. The Shanco trio is running to raise essential funds for the NSPCC, a charity dedicated to protecting vulnerable children, preventing abuse, and ensuring that every child has the safe, happy childhood they deserve.
The cause is one close to the hearts of the runners, and the team has spent the winter months training relentlessly, balancing demanding work schedules with long-distance runs to build endurance for the big day.
In Their Own Words
Declan Armour, Managing Director & Co-Founder, shared his personal motivation for taking on the challenge:
“I am excited (and incredibly nervous) to share that I will be running the 2025 London Marathon with my colleagues Stephen and Kieran in support of the NSPCC, a cause that is close to our hearts and vital for the protection and welfare of children. As first-time marathon runners, we have been training really hard throughout the winter months to prepare for this challenge. Our goal is not only to cross the finish line but also to make a meaningful impact by raising funds for the NSPCC. The NSPCC works tirelessly to prevent child abuse, provide support to vulnerable children, and ensure their safety and well-being.”
Support the Team and the NSPCC
